The macOS operating system includesancthe iWork suite of applications, which are supposed to be a similar Microsoft Office. However, after starting it, an annoying screen with preset templates appears, on which most users choose a blank document anyway.

However, this step can be skipped by simply adjusting the settings so that a blank page of the new document is displayed immediately after launch. By not doing this unnecessary step, the entire process of creating a new document can be simplified and a little faster.

How to on macOS Pages set it to open a blank page immediately after startup

  1. Launch the application itself Pages.
  2. In the top panel, click the button Pages.
  3. Select Preferences.
  4. On the General tab you will find the For new documents section. In it, select the option Use template: Empty. Additionally, you can use the button under this option to change the basic template to one of the other pre-installed ones.
  5. Close the window.

The next time you start it, you will no longer have to select a template and you will be moved directly to a blank page on which you can start writing. However, you don't have to worry about losing your template selection. When creating a new document via the top bar, you will be able to select the template again.
