GPS navigation is now even more accessible than we could have imagined five years ago. Today, everything is inside the body of a small mobile phone. The Maps application from Applu also hides a few hidden tricks in its bowels, which we will look at in this article today. The instructions are created for the version of the application that is included in iOS 10.
Traffic situation near you
Maps have a useful feature that allows the user to easily view traffic situations on nearby roads. But that's not all, we can even display metro lines in Prague, for example.
So how to switch the map to "Transport" mode, which will show us the routes of the metro lines in Prague? In the application, click on in the upper right corner information icon ("i"), where we subsequently select the type of map Transport info. After that, we can check the option to display traffic Traffic. Unfortunately, traffic display does not work in every city.
Compass mode
Most of us know that iPhone also has a Compass application in its software, which is designed for more old-fashioned navigation in the city, or for example in nature. If you need to see the compass in Maps, just click on the navigation an arrow in the top-right corner.
How to avoid tolled sections?
If you travel a lot and don't have a highway stamp, for example, the Maps application offers the possibility to avoid the highway or toll sections. First, we create a route from where we want to go - as soon as the "Start" window appears, we will slide out bottom bar up. At the bottom, click on Elections driving and then we check the option that suits us the most - in our case, we check the option Expressway.
How to easily share your location
This trick is not for the Maps feature, but has a lot to do with Maps. Did you know that you can easily send your location to your friends through the Messages app?
First, let's open the Messages app. Then click in the upper right corner information icon ("i") and then click on the option Send current location.

How to view and edit your favorite places list
Maps have a favorites list that allows you to add favorite and frequently visited places. Finding them is then easier.
Open the application Maps and click the search bar that pops up. Then write the address you want to add to the list. After selecting the address, we go down, where we then click on the option Add to Favorites.
To view the list, just click again on the search bar that will pop up. By moving the entire list of the last search up, we will go to the favorite option, where the already added items will be located.
Searching for a place by category
If you're in a city you're unfamiliar with, the following trick might come in handy. After clicking the search bar will appear at the top of the window category. After clicking on a category, for example, the nearest restaurant will be displayed.
View the city in 3D
Apple launched a so-called Flyover tour a few months ago, which will show you interesting buildings and literally fly through the entire 3D city with you.
You must open on an iPhone, iPad or Mac to activate the tour Apple Maps and click on the 3D logo near Prague. Then just click on Visitation a Apple Maps will do everything for you. In Prague, they will specifically show you the Municipal House, Charles Bridge, Wallenstein Palace and St. Vitus Cathedral. Initially, it takes a while for the entire 3D map to load.

First we will go to Settings, where we click on the option Privacy. Then we choose Location services. Another menu will appear in which we select an option System services. After that, you just have to choose Frequented places and click on Delete data.
How to find your parked car
Aby iPhone recognized exactly where you parked, you must either use Apple CarPlay, which are also available in Škoda cars or have in your vehicle miniat least a system with Bluetooth to which you can connect iPhonem you connect. As soon as you disconnect and leave the car, iOS 10 saves the location and then Maps can navigate you to the car.
When you lock your car and then pull out your phone, you open Maps, so you can add, for example, the exact number of the parking space, a photo and other details to the car's location information.
