It fell on ours a few weeks ago Apple forum question, which keyboard for Mac is currently the best. At first glance, a simple question and answer – simply the one from Applu. But in my opinion it cannot be said that Apple offered the ideal solution. It has a new wireless Magic Keyboard with an integrated battery, but it does not offer a numeric keypad or even backlighting. A larger version with a numeric keypad has been on the market for a long time, but it is wired and again does not have backlighting. As a result, we can safely say that Apple does not currently offer a perfect keyboard.
Matias therefore decided to come up with its own solution. It has had an aluminum wireless keyboard with numeric keypad in its range for some time now. Matias Wireless The Aluminum Keyboard is also available in several colors – Silver, Space Gray, Gold, and Rose Gold.
But the best thing about Matias Keyboard is its endurance on one charge. The keyboard only needs to be charged once a year. You can pair it with up to four different devices, from Mac, iPad, iPhone, to PC with Windows or an Android tablet. You then switch between individual devices using special keys above the numeric keys.
The keyboard has now also reached Jeff Benjamin from a foreign magazine 9to5mac, from which you can also watch the video below. The only flaw in this version is the absence of backlighting. In January at CES, however, Matias introduced a new generation that now boasts backlighting. It is available in space gray and silver variaIt has a second battery with a 1-2 week battery life, which only takes care of the backlight. However, it still has the original giant battery with a year's battery life. The new version can currently be pre-ordered at official website of the company, and will reach the first customers in June.
The price of the version with backlight is $139 (approximately CZK 3 + VAT and duty). The version without backlight will cost $600 (approx. CZK 99 + VAT and duty). The keyboard can be purchased from various distributors in Europe. The layout of the keys also changes depending on the country, but Matias does not offer the Czech layout for now, which is the only flaw in an otherwise perfect product.
And what keyboard do you use for your Mac? Have you found an ideal one that you are extremely happy with? If so, be sure to share in the comments.
The backlight is nice, but for a totally overpriced price.
Same low-profile keys as the Applu? Thank you, I don't want to.
Is this the same layout as the Mac? I like that when I type on the iMac, MacBookI can do it blindly with my own or someone else's. I mean if it's the same width, height... The only minus I see is the enter on one line. I use the previous one apphunting without numbers, it is more suitable for me because it is connected by a holder with trackpadem and I can control it on my knees. In addition, I like AA batteries, they are rechargeable and if something happens, I can replace them for 100 CZK. I don't know if it can be replaced with the new one and it would probably cost 10 times more. But that's all subjective. In general, the one reviewed is definitely better, which justifies the price for which I would replace it in Airwith a flashlight and there would still be some left :-D
I've been using the Logitech K750 for several years - completely without charging... because it has solar panels and recharges continuously whenever there's a little light.
Maxabsolute satisfaction :-)
But it is not offered with the Czech keyboard layout, is it?
I have it, even with Czech characters. Bought about 3 years ago and for me the best keyboard I've ever had. Currently, Logitech no longer offers it in the Czech Republic.
it looks almost like a keyboard
