Apple emoticons found on Mac, iPad, but especially iPhone are some of the most popular ever. For young people, no sentence is complete without them, and many times at the end you will find not just one, but a whole series of muted yellow (now black) faces. But emoticons do not have to serve only to better express feelings, mood or some kind of textual intonation, but also to an unconventional style of art.

Developer website for The server New York Times, Eric Andrew Lewis, has created a completely simple but interesting tool that uses a special algorithm to convert any photo into a mosaic composed of Apple emoticons. Thousands to millions of emoticons are applied to a single image, and depending on how large and complex the image is, it takes a few seconds to create a mosaic, but usually only a few seconds.

You can see examples of emoji mosaics created from well-known images a little below. You can see that the emoticons are chosen and put together quite carefully, so that you can tell what they want to show as a result. If you also want to create a similar image from any of your images, just follow the instructions below.

1. Visit the Emoji Mosaic page directly here
2. Click on Choose File
3. Mark the file in the open window and click on the bottom Choose
4. A button will appear at the top or bottom Save as image, click on it
5. Now right click on the image and select Save picture as…
6. You have to give it a name, don't leave the original name "Unknown" or you won't be able to open it
7. Choose the folder where you want to save it and click on Impose
