5KPlayer has been around for a while now, but its latest version is a game-changer. 5KPlayer has reached version 3.0, bringing a modern look inspired by OS X Yosemite and, most importantly, support for AirPlay, which ultimately means that you can play non-player content on your Mac in 5KPlayer.chat wirelessly display content from your iPhone, iPod or iPad and even record it. For example, you can play a slideshow of photos from your mobile phone or play a game on your iPad and record it on your Mac via the player. Thanks to the support AirPlay makes it one of the best players.
But 5KPlayer can do much more. In addition to playing all video and audio formats, including 4K, 5K, 1080p, MKV, DVD, AVI, FLAC, MP3 and many others, it can also download videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Facebookover 300 other servers. The videos are then automatically saved to the library directly in the player, from where you can also convert them to, for example, MP3, so you have a video from YouTube straight away as a song that can be easily inserted into iTunes and the iPhone. 5KPlayer therefore also serves as a simple converter.
The last function is the ability to play Internet radio. Just enter the URL and 5KPlayer will automatically establish a connection and start playing the radio. But you also have a choice of several stations including BBC, NBC, CBS Sports or The Buffalo.
You might think that the developer will certainly want something for such a universal player, which can also download and convert videos from YouTube. But that's not the case, 5KPlayer is completely free, with no hidden features that need to be unlocked in order to use it fully.
The developers didn't even forget about the pro version Windows. It offers almost the same thing, except support AirPlay. However, we learned directly from them that support will be coming soon. AirPlay also in the pro version Windows, so you will be able to mirror content from your iOS device to Windows PC via 5KPlayer.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try.
Downloaded, installed, tested. Verdict: the best! Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the info, I'll try that too. I just want to ask, can it play the video being played from the MAC via the AP, for example to Apple TV?
The article says that I can't use it on a MACchat show content, that's an interesting feature, but I'd be more interested in a stream from a MAC. I wouldn't have to use Beamer :-)
Thanks for the info
Yes, it also works through Apple TV.. both image and sound
Could someone please advise me how to set Czech subtitles in the player? Instead of brackets and dashes, I have the alphabet…
Absolutely everything opens for me now in this player, does anyone know where to set which format will be opened with priority? Thanks
How did you set the diacritics for the subtitles? I have alphabets instead of brackets and dashes. I would quite like to continue using this player. I'm already used to him.
Don't know how it is possible that 5KPlayer starts automatically when the mac is turned on, even though I don't have "Open after login" checked, and I don't have it in the apps that start after login in the system preferences? Thanks.
When I want to add subtitles, the whole player freezes and I have to Macbook restart. Do you know where the problem is? Thanks!
