While we wait that Apple will send out invitations to this year's iPhone event, the company is thinking of iPhone 6 Plus owners and has launched a new trade-in program for the phone's iSight camera. The company noted that the first models, which were sold from September/September 2014 to January/January 2015, contain a defective part, due to which the rear camera can start taking blurry photos. The company has therefore launched a program under which owners of damaged phones are entitled to free repair of their devices. As the company points out, the entire phone will not be replaced, but only the camera will be replaced with a new one, so users will get back the device that AppThey sent it.
You can find out if you are entitled to a repair based on the serial number. Apple namely, it registers a database of phones with which the problem has already manifested itself or may yet manifest itself. In the event that a matching serial number is found and users have a problem with the photos, they can request a free repair either through technical support online or in brick-and-mortar stores Apple Store or at authorized service centers.
It is strange that my Plusko, purchased 2 weeks ago, also falls into the program.
It could have been bought 2 days ago, but it was made around the same time as the article says
Do I want a new piece?
danielkyska, try entering your SN again.
I bought an ip6+ about 14 days ago and firstly it also told me that I am included in this program and secondly and on xxx it told me that my SN is fine and the camera has already been replaced, is it a different serial number, where is the problem did not occur. :-)
I tried again several times today but I am still eligible for a replacement. It was probably a piece that had been stored for a long time. But I haven't encountered any problems so far, so I don't know if I should have my new phone needlessly drilled...
danielkyska: on this pageancI think it says that they will only repair those units that have the incriminated S/N and are also affected by this problem, so if you don't have the problem, don't bring it there. The exchange program is valid for 3 years.
I would also rather take a new phone...I don't like the idea that they have to drill into my phone...I would like to know if the fault is clearly identifiable, because it seems to me that my photos are sometimes out of focus (obviously not my fault, nor the object moving too fast), but it's not the rule...In my opinion, they should solve it by replacing it with a "new" part, it wouldn't be a brand new part anyway, but miniI almost wouldn't be without my phone... :-( Disappointment for me, I will pay 900 EUR for a phone and I expect services at the level of this amount...
