Parallels, the maker of the popular virtualization tool for Mac, has just released a new version of Parallels Desktop 11. The program is again sold at the traditional price of $80, respectively, users of older versions are entitled to upgrade for $50. One of the most important features is full support for Windows 10 and OS X El Capitan, allowing Yosemite and older users to seamlessly test the new system through virtualization. When Windowswith 10, the function is also supported Always-On Cortana, which means you can have a voice assistant on your Mac — something he could Apple done already 4 years ago. Instead of Siri so we have competing assistants Google Now and Cortana at our disposal.
Parallels 11 also received other improvements. The latest version is 50% faster and this is also reflected in switching on and off virtual machines, where this process is 50% faster. It is also faster to work with files by 20%. A new feature is the Travel Mode, which users will appreciate MacBookoh, since this mode can extend battery life by up to 20%. Furthermore, there are improvements in the area of printing documents to Windowse, faster receiving notifications from Windowsu, better file association, real-time location and one of the most useful features is the support of the favorite function Quick Look, thanks to which users can now also na Windowse watch previews of documents and files.
But the most important innovation is the support for Cortana, which can be used even without having one Windows 10 on the screen. You just need to have it in the background and you can still summon Cortana by saying "Hey Cortana" and get a response from her. Professionals also have the new version of Parallels Pro 11, which is designed for developers and supports Visual Studio, Docker, Chef and many more. This version is available for $100.

Cortana doesn't work on Czech windowseh, or rather it is banned by mrkvosoft
And again they want money for the new version. Every year they release a new version and every year they collect money for the upgrade. That SW will soon be more expensive than macbook.
They make a living from the software, it would be weird if they did it for nothing :) however, I go to 10 and stay there, 50% faster switching off and on doesn't bother me so much, considering that the 10s of start-up is not so bad, moreover, I didn't read anywhere on what machines these values reached :)
Unfortunately, a classic. 50 bucks to upgrade again. If they wanted somewhere around 500 I wouldn't have a problem, but this annoys me. I'll probably stick with version 9 if everything goes well on El Capitan. Windows I have 8.1 and I don't plan to switch to 10 yet.
I know that they make a living from software, but as Zbynda writes, if it were CZK 500, almost CZK 1 for an upgrade is a lot. 500st test in El Capitan and it works. The only problem is if you work in Coherence and have links to applications to Windows they don't work that way on the OSX desktop. The application must be launched from Windows. I'm switching to VirtualBox. I migrated it from Parallels to VirtualBox and it looks exactly the same and I think it runs faster. It works for me from El Capitan.
I fix: 10 I test in El Capitan and it works.
W10 under Parallels 10 also works for me... absolutely without problems
Well, I tried VirtualBox back in the days of parallels 6, then around 9, and it was a horror to work with the virtual... However, I don't know about you, but I write with parallels support and the price can be lowered by 10-30%, I was honestly thinking about VM Fusion You can use 1 license on 3 stations. Which the parallels license does not allow. On the other hand, Parallels support works like a charm
Of course, what's in those is probably important Windows you do everything. For now, VirtualBox seems faster to me. I would say that it takes the same amount of memory. It also has coherence. The only thing I haven't found are lines Windows applications to OSX so I can run them directly. And most importantly, it's free. The thing is that I pay 1500 every year and that seems like enough to me (even if I paid 1000, it's enough). I'm of course for the fees, because I understand that they need income, but reasonable, it can't be 50% of the price. The transition from Parallels to VirtualBox was fine (image migration was lossless). Just let me go there OFFICE. So maybe they've worked on it a bit, but it seems fast and cool to me. They don't support Win10 yet, but they will.
