dm360-silver
We recently LsA tested quite cheap, nice and interesting smart watch from Alcatel. I mentioned them as probably the cheapest smart watches on the Czech market. After about a week, however, I got my hands on a watch that is almost half the price and offers twice as much. It is a Zeaplus DM360 smart watch, which will delight ordinary customers with its very pleasant design, round dial, price under 3 crowns and, last but not least, the considerable number of functions it offers. The watch is Chinese, which means it is not officially sold here. So is it worth investing in their trip around the world to your wrist?

First look at the watch

  • The packaging resembles a book
  • The leather strap on the watch looks very elegant together with the metal on the sides
  • There is free space under the display, following the Alcatel model Onetouch Watch, that wasn't visible in the renders
  • There are four pins at the bottom, the charging method is thus clarified
  • I like how the strap seems to go through the entire watch
  • Oh no, I can actually see a microphone and a speaker?!
  • I'm a little afraid of contact with water, just the button on the side doesn't look very confident.

Package contents
I really like the packaging style. The box is all white and can evoke a book. On the back it says "Smart watch. Leading the fashion of intelligent life." This means that the watch combines smartness and elegance.anci. You will encounter this often when discovering the retail packaging. After opening the package, you will see the inscription "Creative make great life." Then you will come across the watch itself, the magnetic charging cableoneand a little literature to help with the operation, I cannot help but note that the instructions are in Chinese and English, with a significant number of typos in the English part. And in the list iOS devices that the watch works with are missing mine iPhone 5s. Apparently the developers felt it unnecessary to mention that the watch also works with this model. Although the plastic iPhone 5c mentioned.

Design
The watch is very well designed. Unfortunately, they do not deny clear inspiration Motorola Moto 360. Like the Moto, they have a round face, but that wouldn't be such a bad thing, because in my opinion, a watch with a round face still looks better than a watch like a Pebble Time or Apple Watch. The button is also distinctive, although it can be pressed quite well, but it is not particularly firm and it can also be turned, which is apparently not the intention. On the right side, in addition to the aforementioned buttons, we also find a speaker. The speakers play quite well, which surprised me. Even so, it is obvious that it is not a stereo, but a hand on the heart, who would expect stereo speakers in a watch. The left side of the watch is then clean, except for the microphone.

The version I tested was silver, but they also sell gray, something like Space Gray and so on.onec gold edition. I have to admit that I liked the tested silver edition the most according to the renders. I don't really need the gold color on the watch and the dark gray seemed kind of dull to me. The strap is black and leather in all editions. The watch is covered with black plastic from the bottom and you will find the anchoring screws, pins for magnetic charging, which works quite similarly to theonewhich MagSafe Macbooku. You charge and remove it when needed, but nothing happens. nestyes, even if you quickly tear off the watch. We must not forget the heart rate and body temperature sensor. The watch weighs 56 grams, but it feels the same on the hand as any other metal watch. The design is really great. At first glance, the watch looks beautiful, but after a while, significant flaws emerge. The design is truly the best thing that a watch can boast of.

Display
I personally wasn't very impressed with the display of the Zeaplus watch. If only because of the unnecessarily large frame around the display. If I can compare it with the Alcatel Onetouch, so they had almost no frame, the display smoothly blended into the edge of the watch. The watch display is a glossy IPS, with a resolution of 240×204. It is funny that on the official website of the manufacturer it is stated that it is a TFT panel and that the resolution is 240×240, while at first glance it is clear that it is IPS. Although I did not find the Automatic brightness box anywhere in the watch settings, it seems to work. The brightness and readability in the sun were good and I had no problems, although it is clear that it is far from retina. In my opinion, however, in terms of readability in the sun, Alcatel also leads the tested watches Onetouch. If I had to summarize my feelings about the watch display, I would say that the display is far from the best. But these feelings are probably caused by pampering retina display.

Features, OS and durability
Zeaplus has installed its own operating system called Nucleus OS in the watch, which, among other things, ensures compatibility with both Android and iOS. I probably had the most complaints about the operating system during the entire testing period. The system felt very unfinished. I didn't find many errors or bugs in the system, but for example, I was quite annoyed that the watch only offered two backgrounds. I don't mean the watch face background, each of the seven watch faces had its own. The home screen is the screen with the watch face. By swiping from top to bottom, you pull out a kind of control panel. There you can find Bluetooth on and off, a battery indicator, and email synchronization, which is synced with my phone.onem, for some reason, didn't work. Also, brightness and volume sliders. Of course, the watch supports (in an unconventional way) notifications. These are taken directly from the phone's notification center, but you can't react to them in any way. You still need to pick up the phone to do this.

However, more interesting things happen when you swipe from right to left. A drop down menu will open. There you will find five pages of four icons each. It probably wouldn't make sense to list all the functions, I will only mention those that I personally found interesting and useful.

  • Siri: turns on the voice assistant Siri on your iPhone
  • Bluetooth Music: will play music from your iPhone, it can also play music from the watch's speakers
  • File manager: the watch doesn't have extra large internal memory and you don't have anything to fill it anyway, but yes, there is a file explorer
  • Applications: I probably liked this function the most, it doesn't offer an app store, but simple built-in apps in the watch – calendar, calculator, audio recording, stopwatch and alarm clock. Unfortunately, the minute is missing again.
  • Heart Rate: nothing groundbreaking, but this function is simply pleasing
  • Pedometer: classic pedometer, it didn't work badly

You probably noticed that I wrote the app descriptions in English. I wanted to point out that the watch is entirely in English. Something like European localization is missing. If I had to summarize my opinion about the operating system, I would have expected more agility, but I liked the gesture support, for example, when you turn your hand, the pages in the menu scroll, similar to Android. Wear. But I have to point out one thing. The operating system is considered more like a smartwatch system than a sports watch and the like. At Alcatel OneThe touch Watch was full of fitness features, they're here too, albeit less abundantly. They're there, but you don't have to see them, you don't have to display them, no one is simply throwing them at you.

The durability of the watch is a chapter in itself. From the manufacturer's website I waslsaIt is said that the watch will last for four days without any movement. So I ran it. The watch arrived uncharged. During the seven days that I tested it, I charged it five times. That is simply a lot. Perhaps the constant running of the pedometer contributed to this, but it is probably not a function that should "drain" the entire battery.

záver
For the fact that the watch costs something like two thousand, it offers unprecedented possibilities. However, incomprehensible errors appear in several applications. I will mention, for example, the heart rate measurement function, which instead of measuring my heart rate for a minute and then recording how many beats I have per minute, it measures for example 3 minutes and then still announces that I have to reset the measurement. First, it is important to clarify what you would expect from a watch for a price of around two thousand. In any case, the watch will offer a very decent design. You can try the Zeaplus Watch DM360 if you want to start with wearable electronics but don't want to dig deeper into your pocket. Be careful, however, that the watch does not discourage you from wearability.
