The app for tracking the routes of certain flights around the world is one of the most downloaded paid apps in App Storu. But this fall he will get a bit of a blow below the belt directly from Applu. The company has added the ability to track the routes of certain flights directly to iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan, but for unknown reasons, not a word was said about this new feature at the conference. In fact, it is quite carefully hidden in both systems and was only accidentally revealed by one of the users on Reddit.
And how does it actually work? OS X El Capitan or iOS 9 automatically detects when a flight number is present. For example, you receive an email confirming your flight reservation to London, and the system automatically recognizes that it is in the format of a flight number and displays it as a link. If you hold your finger for a long time on the link, a preview with flight information including the route appears in a clear Apple Map. On OS X El Capitan, you must either use a stronger press on Force Touch trackpador mark the number and notchat to view the information. Links work in iMessage, in regular text messages, in email, notes and other applications.

I have an electronic flight ticket in my email and it doesn't work on either - El Capitan or iOS 9 (latest version, both)
I guess it works as it should for some years for now. It should gradually expand. Anyway, email can display it. See:
