Uber has become one of the most interesting startups in the world and a company that specializes in the interesting principle of a "taxi" service. Six years after its inception, the startup is also entering Slovakia, i.e. Bratislava, and it is here that from today people have the opportunity to order an affordable ride from one place to another. This is not Uber as such, but its cheaper version variantu UberX, which also serves to familiarize people with the new service.
Uber made this decision mainly after many Bratislavans downloaded the application even before it was available in our territory. The startup team from San Francisca convinced that there is interest in the service in our region and so it was decided that the service will also be available in our country. This was confirmed by Lokman Kuris, manager responsible for international expansion. And how does it actually work? After downloading the application, you enter your credit card into it and the payment is made immediately over the phone, so there is no longer the risk of searching for your coins in your wallet for several minutes. And of course, if you are satisfied, you can also give the driver a tringelt.
Drivers who choose to drive for Uber will have to pass a strict driving and criminal background check because Uber, like Apple, he only wants the best of the best, and he doesn't want you to get into the SUV of the Ukrainian mafia. The company itself takes a commission of 20% from each of the drivers in Slovakia, while there should be almost 100 of them in our country. Of course, competing services are already available on our market, in our case HOPIN, which works on a very similar concept to Uber, and the Czech company Liftago is also to enter here.
Finally, Uber adds that the service will be available in Bratislava completely free of charge from 12:00 today by Sunday.
