Apple today released an update to its Boot Camp tool, which is used to install the operating system Windows on Apple Mac computers. Boot Camp two weeks after the release of the latest system from Microsoftukonestrongly supports Windows 10. Boot Camp 6, as the new version is called, but unfortunately it is not yet available as an update for OS X, but only if you already have it installed Windows 10 and start the system directly. Right in Windows 10 you are then offered an update to download.
Boot Camp 6 also brings support for USB 3, USB-C, Thunderbolt, SD and SDXC card readers, Apple SuperDrive and for Apple keyboard, mouse and trackpad directly for Windows 10. With an older version of Boot Camp, everything listed also worked, but some users occasionally had problems with, for example, function keys or trackpadyes or no Apple Magic Mouse. For example, on 13″ MacBooku Air from 2013 everything worked.
If you want to check your current version of Boot Camp, just open Boot Campt Assistant (Application –> Utility) and then select Boot Camp Guide -> About the Boot Camp Wizard app.
If you want to update Boot Camp to version 6 now, you need to switch directly to Windows on your Mac, where you will be offered the update. The update has not yet arrived on OS X Yosemite, but it should arrive in the next few days. You will then be able to download it via Mac App Store in the Updates tab.
