Apple sells its phones for relatively high prices, but at the same time tries to keep the prices of parts low. At least that's what a new report from DigiTimes suggests, which claims that Apple decided at the last minute to push Samsung and TSMC, the two manufacturers of pre processors iPhone, to make him chips at lower prices. Of course, this is something that every manufacturer would refuse if they did not receive certain benefits for it. TSMC rejected this request and will manufacture pre processors iPhone 6s for the same price the pair had agreed upon. But Samsung has improved, which with Applom decided to offer him cheaper chip production and almost free back-end services, but on the condition that he manufactures most of the processors Apple A9.

Apple he wanted to convince TSMC to reduce the production price, since the company is relatively new to the world of FinFET processors, while Samsung already has more experience in producing them and uses them in its phones. In addition, TSMC has only a relatively small number of customers that manufacture chips using the FinFET process. Apple ultimately decided to reduce the number of wafers that TSMC had to process for its client. While he was originally supposed to process 30 wafers, he has now reduced them to less than 000 per month, which will also affect the production capacity of the Taiwanese manufacturer. However, we do not yet know whether this will also affect the production of processors Apple A9X, which is supposed to be manufactured by TSMC, or not.
