Last week we wrote an article focused on typing emoticons quickly on the iPhone keyboard. Given how helpful the article was in many ways and the positive response to it, and especially given that we received a few emails asking for more advice on typing quickly on the iPhone, I decided to write another article that I believe could be useful to someone again and help them with their Apple phone.onem.
Today's trick is based on the same principle as the previous one with emoticons, and maybe some of you are even using it. We'll create shortcuts again, but this time we'll use some familiar and frequently used words or phrases that can be written much faster. So let's first get into the settings, where we will create shortcuts.
1. On your own iOS device go to Settings
2. Choose In general
3. Now Keyboard
4. Click on the second option here Abbreviations
5. In the upper right corner +
Now let's create some abbreviations for frequently used words Do field Phrase write the desired word such as "no yes no" and in the field Abbreviation in this case write “njn” (both without quotes). Of course, it all depends on what phrases you use most often, but I personally think that the ones listed below are some of the most common, with a few exceptions.
In this way, you can increase the speed and efficiency of typing by up to two times. As in the case of instructions with smileys, it is enough to write, for example, njn, press the space bar and the shortcut will be automatically replaced with the phrase you selected. You get used to using abbreviations really quickly, and moreover, these are the kind of abbreviations that were commonly used in the past or even are still used today.
Finally, I would like to point out that if you have multiple devices from Applu (Mac, iPhone, iPad), shortcuts are automatically synchronized between all devices and you don't have to create them everywhere, but only on one device.
