Sony has officially introduced the second generation of SmartWatches, which are basically what we expect from them Apple iWatch, but for Android. The watch is exclusively created to synchronize with smartphones and tablets with the Android operating system. The novelty will offer a 1,6" display with a resolution of 220x176 pixels and high brightness, which should ensure good readability even in direct sunlight. In addition to the increased brightness, the new LCD display also takes care of this. The watch will offer an aluminum body and stainless steel materials, with the fact that the owner can use any 24mm strap or pull to attach to the wrist.
Mezi základní výbavu patří NFC chip and Bluetooth 3.0. The watch offers IP5 certification, which guarantees resistance to dust or splashing water, but the watch may not be able to handle a hot twenty-minute bath. What everyone is interested in about the watch is the battery life, after all, you will surely remember the news New York Times, according to which Apple has not yet introduced its own smart watch precisely because of problems with battery life. According to Sony, it is 3-4 days with normal use, but with the display constantly on. If we use the watch miniIf we use the device sparingly or turn off the display, then we can get up to seven days of battery life.
What everyone is most interested in is what we will actually be able to use such a watch for. So what will users of an alternative operating system with a green robot in the logo be able to use them for. The watch can receive calls, sms, notifications, check social networks and media, read messages, take a photo (of course only as a trigger), control the music or presentation player, play video, adjust the volume, and it is also possible to connect it to fitness applications. Sony claims it currently has more than 200 apps for the watch, and the number will continue to rise. Worldwide availability is planned for September this year.
The total weight of the watch is pleasant, it is only 48,4 grams with the silicone wristband and even only 23,5 grams without it. For comparison, for example luxury watches with a 44 mm case they weigh over 120 grams. However, what is quite disappointing is the fact that in this case all the measurement of sports and other activities is still taken care of by the smartphone alone.one or tablet. This means that the watch does not offer any of its own sensors that could measure, for example, your heart rate, or at least calories burned and similar data using an accelerometer and gyroscope. What about the flashlight?
How often does it need to be recharged?
I'll wait for the iWatch :) I hope they will be this year
last 3-4 days is not enough, but on the other hand, I can charge while sleeping,
receiving calls on a watch is nonsense these days, reading sms and notifications is more interesting
– taking photos with a watch – I don't know, it was effective in the kit :D
– I will still wait for the watch with the hologram
pity that apple didn't introduce iwatch and it had potential too,
- siri, notifications, music, date, time and reminders would be practically at hand
I'm probably old, or too comfortable (meaning lazy) to carry another useless device that doesn't bring ME anything. It will just require constant charging.
However, it is not particularly clear to me who would prefer to read an administration or some social network notification on a 1.6″ display over the 4″ display of an iPhone or Android phone. And control the music with the watch, which is playing from my phone/iPod anyway? I don't know, I guess I don't really understand usability.
Maybe it's just my opinion, but the arrival of the iWatch will mean as much of a revolution in this segment as the arrival of the first iPhone in 2007. I'm guessing that up to 3 million people will buy them within 200 years. And it will be a hit. With a price of 500-600 euros.
The way Sony conceived it, it seems to me to be a useless device for basically nothing. Hope Apple if he is working on something similar, he has a better idea of what to use such a device for.
It's the first time I see an Android, it looks nice.
I hope we do too. dockame..
