Company Apple was previously perceived as a company whose products are not exactly among the cheapest on the market. This is no longer the case, and if we look at mobile phones, for example, you will find that with the exception of Huawei, basically every flagship from any other manufacturer is priced at or above the price of iPhone. Všechny produkty které Apple manufactures are also its flagship in the given category.
Apple they do not fundamentally change the price of the products at the moment when they are the current model of the company. A price change sometimes occurs with the arrival of a new generation of a product, which we could observe in recent years especially with iPod players, the price of which has been falling almost year after year to stabilize in recent years where it is today. The older generation subsequently Apple ceases to sell at the time of the arrival of the new generation, except iPhone, which is then offered at a slightly reduced price. However, even here we cannot count on the company starting to offer older iPhone for half the price it set when the model was current.
Now we have basically come to the point of this article. Nokia set the price of its flagship Lumia 920 at 15 CZK when it came to the market, which is a price that completely matches the price iPhone 5 and other phones in this category and is of course completely fine. However, now the arrival of the successor to the Nokia Lumia 920 is expected and the price has been reduced by almost fifty percent. Suddenly, it is not a problem to buy a Nokia Lumia for a price below 8900 CZK. The company has thus reduced the price of its top product by almost half even before the successor arrived. So what is the price of the product itself for Nokia? I do not mean the production value, which is approximately 40-60% of the selling price for every company. On the contrary, I mean the price for the company itself and its users.
Would you mind if I bought you one? iPhone 5 today for 16 CZK and tomorrow you would find it at Apple.cz for 9000 CZK? What would this phone actually be worth? Would it be worth iPhone 5 relatively high 16 CZK or "only" 600 CZK? Because Apple it never offers its products cheaper, so you can look at it with a double standard, the first one, which Nokia users will probably use after reading it, which means that the company still wants to make astronomical profits, or the second one. Another way of looking at it is that the company simply values its products as much as its customers. Apple Tedy nestIt does not change the price of the product, but its value to the user.
That was also one of the reasons why I switched to iphone … už mě nebavilo kupovat vlajkové lodě androidu za 14-16 tisíc a pak je prodávat za pul roku o 50 procent levněji jenom kvůli tomu že vyšla vlajková loď a nebo že si výrobce prostě usmyslel, že teď zlevníme :-D
@treysand
Exactly ;-)
S iProdukty si nekupuji pouze HW, ale také SW. Pokud koupím vlajkovou loď s Androidem, co mi potom zůstane za 1-2 roky? Telefon, který není odladěný, má stále SW chyby aj. Od AppI'll be left with a phone that's just as good, fast, snappy, and functional as the day it was released, if not better thanks to updates.
E.g. my first android phone HTC Desire HD. It was perfect, everything OK. But Android remained on version 2.3.6 along with errors such as call drop when auto. brightness when I put the phone with the screen down to activate the loudspeaker, or the constant crash of Sense when opening multiple HTC default applications. And should I rely on the XDA type community? NO! Thank you, but I've already gone through flashing ROMs enough :-) now I want to call and text without obstacles.
Samsung has a weird business policy. It can also be seen in their profits. They have dozens of models, they are churning it out head on and they have significantly less profit than Apple.
Very good article, I would like it if articles could be rated in the same way as the "+ PULSE" comment
Trade policy Apple is focused on quality, Samsung's policy on quantity…
@prof.Xavier
I disagree with you. My IP4 is on iOS7 incredibly slower and much more annoying than on gold iOS6. Unfortunately :-(
