At a time when Applu, Google and other major manufacturers are expected to introduce their own smart watches, Sony is determined to overtake these companies again. The world-renowned Japanese electronics manufacturer plans to present its new device at the Mobile Asia Expo 2013 conference, that is, within the next week. Sony confirms this through the official Xperia channel, and it is therefore possible that the new watch will fall under the Sony Xperia series.
Among these applications it is possible to find, for example, Twitter and Facebook.
Sony introduced its first smart watch back in 2007. Later, it replaced it with the Sony Ericsson LiveView product, which, however, received a lot of criticism, primarily due to the absence of a touch screen. This device was released in 2010, that is, in the time when Apple introduced the sixth generation iPod nano, popular especially because of the possibility to wear it on the hand. One of the new tweets lists all the names of Sony's smart watches so far, which are Pocket Watch, wristwatch, digital watch, LiveView and Xperia Smartwatch. Apple should probably present its own watch in the course of 2014, but the earliest should be the end of 2013. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, however, it has Apple its project in the phase of very early testing and therefore expects the device to reach the market only at the end of 2014. With a display that will offer a size of 1,5 to 2 inches, the device should work with a modified version of the system iOS and it apparently supported apps from iTunes App Store.
