When Adobe introduced a new Creative solution Cloud, which replaces the Creative Suite packages, many people thought it was the definitiveonec piracy. After all, Adobe should be the company that has the greatest interest in stopping the use of illegal software, as its Photoshop is officially the most widely used illegal software in the world. This is mainly due to the price of the application and the arrival of Pixelmatoralso its irreplaceability in the field of design and graphics.
Unfortunately, what Adobe promised to do to curb piracy hasn't been very successful so far, and Creative Cloud was cracked just one day after Adobe officially released it. Creative Software Cloud It works on a fairly simple principle, once you purchase a license, you must be connected to the Internet when installing applications. Afterwards, the software can be used for 30 days in Offline mode or 90 days offline if you have purchased an annual license.
Software pirates have already figured out a way to bypass the need for online verification, and cracked versions of the new Photoshop CC and other Creative applications are spreading on the Internet. Cloud. Unfortunately, in this case, the protection was not too complex. This article is for informational purposes only and the editorial team condemns any misuse of the software and the use of illegal copies of any application. If you want to use Creative LCoud, read the article Annual access to Adobe Creative Cloud costs 19 CZK.

Huh… ;-) . . .
How about if information about the person / company who created the file was encoded in the PDF file with the possibility of online checking whether the license matches the header of the created PDF? Don't tell me that when company X from CR sends a PDF file, it won't have company Y from the USA in the header. The header would most likely be cracked, but it will no longer be possible to crack the Adobe server with information about the license owner, which must be identical to the created PDF file.
I just thought of a possible protection in my field, where external data in PDF is constantly received and almost everything is intended for commercial purposes.
@Marek Bednář: I'm also from the industry and I would call it "security by obscurity"... A lot of hassle for paying customers... Other communication problems, which are already quite common in prepress (from what position would I refuse to process a client's file?)... And pirates are laughing merrily, because cleaning a header from a PDF is quite funny... Yes, we can start using "locked" PDFs, but the absolute majority of workflow systems strictly refuse, so... I think the first ones who would oppose such "protection" would be Adobe's paying customers... The only solution is on Adobe's side, by which I mean setting more reasonable pricing plans for CC (see my post under the article "Annual access to Adobe service..." here on LSA)… ;)
Mumum's opinion on this is that Adobe products are not expensive, it's just that the DTP industry is, sorry, fucked up, where professional work is sold at ridiculous prices!
I remember very well the time when for DTP work one needed a MAC for 100.000 (at that time the normal salary was 10.000 net), purchased SW because the Internet was in its infancy and the DTP operator was considered an expert. At that time, definitely different amounts were collected and no one disputed. It was necessary to pay all this from the invoiced money.
Today, the cheapest laptop from Alza is enough for graphics, SW is stolen from the Internet and hooray, new graphics studio is in the world. Invoice? For what! Pretty paperless. ToancI'll have a printer at home, I won't pay expensive rent, and ideally I'll do it in the evenings when I get back from a real job, or while studying (ideally a field that has nothing to do with DTP). It doesn't matter that I've never done graphics, if Franta can do it, then so can I.
People still listen to the price and these people described above have ruined it all. Today, if you take the rent for the premises, the purchase of equipment, SW equipment + official salaries of employeesanc(I mean really official, no miniminimum salaries and cash bonus) it is a big problem to earn money for all this at today's prices. Companies are then chasing a huge volume of orders with miniwith little profit, just to make a living.
In the Czech Republic, I feel that everyone really understands football and DTP!
There have been a lot of graphic design schools, but what comes out of them is terrible. I tried to give a few of these schools a try.ancIt didn't make sense. It's a long story what they teach at those schools, anyway they are useless in practice. Unfortunately, these schools are constantly churning out new and new "graphic designers" who don't know anything else and need to make a living somehow. So they charge absolutely absurd prices and conditions, and the whole industry suffers from it again.
Then there is the issue that the license for the Adobe package costs 19.000 per year. After all, that's 1.600/month. That's what a skilled graphic designer has to earn in one morning!
Simonides: so we misunderstood. The file will only have a locked header and you don't have to check the file, but you will have the option to perform an online check through Adobe to see if it's okay and if not, you will have the option to report the likely use of illegal software using the online form. Adobe will not provide a report to anyone and will keep it for internal use and will take appropriate steps based on that. Unlocking the header will be in the contract when installing the software and it will be a gross violation. If you send me a PDF file that has a deleted header, or the online check of the authenticity of the software does not match the header, I will use the online form to fill out a report about the possible use of illegal software, including the company's registered office, IC, and the person's name. How will you defend yourself against that? It is not possible for the graphic studio X sent a file that will have the header of graphic studio Y filled in, and if that happens, Adobe will know very well that graphic studio Y studio X doesn't own any of their products, so it's clear that something is wrong there.
This procedure will complicate the pirate's way of selling data, but at the same time it will extremely increase the respect of people using illegal SW for commercial purposes.
Nothing changes for legal users and they will not be restricted in any way when creating a PDF file.
Ps The online check algorithm will be intelligent and will therefore recognize whether the file was created in Adobe programs even if the header states that the PDF was created by a program such as Corel. Personally, I can tell by eye whether the shadow effect was created in Adobe's collection or by Corel D.raw.
Jarys: you are absolutely right about the spewing.
It's funny when the DTP operator asks you in quotation marks what the drop is :D
I think there is an extreme percentage of companies on the market that use illegal SW for commercial purposes. People turn a blind eye to a hobby, but there should be a very strict rule for commerce.
Marek Bednar
exactly as you write. Our competition was constantly bringing us data in the latest versions of SW (be it Adobe or others) and these were small companies that definitely couldn't even make money on that SW and were still upset with us that we were not compatible due to our older version of SW. It is simply taken as a standard that SW is not paid for.
...but then I would get into the discussion again, where I recently caught a lot of arguments from the debaters here about how stealing is actually perfectly fine :-)
Today, we operate in such a way that we have a few permanent clients with whom we have been cooperating for a long time and we are satisfied. We have clearly set rules for pricing policy and other processes, and it works. We don't even recruit new clients, most of the time they went elsewhere during the first calculation anyway.
Yes, we are not cheap at all, but we have added value in other things than low price. Our clients know this and love to come back. They see us as professionals in the field and accept our prices, and on the other hand, they are sure that we will not rob them and deliver the promised work according to their ideas and on time.
