Programmer Will Hains created a very interesting HTML5 chart that shows how long it took to develop individual versions of the operating system iOS. The graph shows not only how long it took for a new version to be released from the first developer tests iOS directly to regular users, but also how long it took to test each beta version. Server cultfmac.com calculated how long it took to test each beta operating system version on average and thus found out the date when it could Apple publish the raw version iOS 7.

If the company followed the typical testing duration for each beta version, there should be a publicly available version iOS 7 available exactly on September 20, 2013. In the graph you can see the testing duration in real time iOS 7 and the number of days that have passed since the start of testing. Although Apple published availability date iOS 7 only as of autumn this year, it is clear that the full version will be available at the same time as the new mobile phoneonem iPhone 5, which will be part of iOS 7. New iPhone so we can expect it in September not only based on this indication. You can look at the HTML5 chart right here.

How long does it take on average to test each beta versions iOS?

  • Beta 1 – lasts 14,75 days
  • Beta 2 – lasts 15,4 days
  • Beta 3 – lasts 15 days
  • Beta 4 – lasts 18,6 days
