Being a graphic designer is not the cheapest decision in the world. After you buy the necessary hardware, you also need to get a bunch of fonts, images and, last but not least, applications. About Adobe's switch from the popular Creative Suite to the new Creative Cloud we already informed you in the article Adobe ends development of Creative Suite and is switching to Creative Cloud. While Adobe's first press release mentioned a price of $49,99 for a monthly Creative Cloud membership, Cloud For regular users who do not have any previous version of the Creative Suite package, the real price that Adobe presented on its website is slightly different.
If we talk about the price without any benefits, that is, without being a student or having a previous version of Creative Suite, you have the option to buy essentially three licenses for Creative CloudThe first option is to buy a license for one, any application from Creative Cloud for one month. So if you choose, for example, only Photoshop CC for one month, you will pay €24,59 per month, or approximately 630 CZK per month. You pay this amount for full access to your chosen application and 20GB Cloudelectronic storage.
Another option is to purchase a so-called full plan, which will give you access to all Creative applications. Cloud and all its benefits, plus of course again with 20GB of space on Creative Cloud. Here you have two options, either you subscribe for a year as we know it with operators and you are obliged to pay the amount of €61,49 every month, i.e. 1580 CZK every month or you decide to buy only monthly access to all applications. In this case, you are not bound by anything and you can stop using the applications after a month and you do not pay any further fees. However, here you need to prepare for a slightly different amount, access to all Creative applications Cloud It costs exactly €92,24 per month, or approximately CZK 2370 each month.
Annual use of Creative Cloud It will therefore cost you 19 CZK. For comparison, it is definitely worth taking a look at the currently still sold package Creatice Suite 000 Master Collection, which is comparable to Creative Cloude number of applications. It can be purchased with a full license for 70 CZK.

I think that Adobe's actions have upset a lot of graphics. Most users are satisfied with the Adobe CS collection.. Design standard, which costs 30 CZK with VAT and which had an upgrade to a higher version for 000 CZK, which is a hell of a difference and an example of how Adobe is after profit. I read a comment somewhere by an employeeance Adobe with the justification that users can try programs that they would never buy. Yes, testing e.g. Premiere Pro etc. in a printing environment is the same as buying Autocad = absolutely wrong words of the person in question.
Recapitulation:
box collection CS: 30 CZK + annual upg. 000 kc
5 years of use = CZK 56
user own program!
cloudnew collection: 19000 CZK / 1 year
5 years of use = CZK 95
the user owns nothing
Most users are satisfied with the programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Acrobat X and I don't need to pay for something I don't want! I disagree with Adobe's policy and personally refuse to upgrade to cloud version as long as it's possible, even if I get emails saying I should upgrade... :D
Personally, I try to avoid Adobe products on principle. I have a long-term dislike of the company. I work in a video production environment and try to get by with FinalCut, Motion, Compressor, Pixelmator. Sometimes I encounter some minor snag, especially with PixelmatorI had to accept that Motion has less support for graphic templates than After, but it's possible. For video editing, both the old and current FinalCut are much better than Premiere with its amateur flavor. But it's clear to me that graphic designers don't have many options, because they're not full alternatives to Photoshop. Pixelmator it doesn't do that much yet and contains a number of bugs that complicate work from time to time. Adobe is aware of its monopoly and is abusing it...
The last licenses we purchased were for the CS2 package and we are successful. studio, which makes interesting money. We have absolutely no need to upgrade. CS2 provides all the standard that a graphic designer needs for his work.
As I say, "it's not the latest version of SW that makes a skilled greativc, it's his head and skilled hands".
I often meet absolute newbies who steal illegal latest versions of Adobe products and then just tinker with them unnecessarily. They can't tell when I explain to them that the basis for their future work and development is elsewhere than in a lot of filters, effects and functions that try to do the work for them.
Jarys, CS2 is a very old collection that my colleague has and I have CS5.5 which I can't let go of. I think that since CS4 the side panels have been redesigned, which is a big advantage compared to the old collection, but what I appreciate most is the automatic online document check: OPI, RGB, Gray, white overprint!, low resolution, minismall stroke thickness, risk of bleed, overlapping text, missing font. This is a lifeline that has saved my ass several times. Probably the biggest problem that few people notice is the use of white overprinting, which is sometimes the case with logos. The old collection does not warn about it and if the RIP does not have protection against white overprinting, then it will go to the painter and as you probably know, it will prove to be a pretty big deal for an overprinted order. For this reason, I will always prefer the new collection even if it has 0 more functions :-)
Ps, I have the warning about Gray objects enabled because when I make CB photos, which are supposed to be CMYK, and a CB photo happens to appear in the document, it warns me and I don't review it, which is not a problem to review without checking.
Marek Bednář:
I'm not saying that the new versions don't have useful features. I just don't see a reason for us to upgrade. We're not a project factory, we handle dozens of projects a year. Here, the pressure is mainly on creativity, not on price, so we tend to choose projects. The features you described make work much easier if someone is working on a large number of projects in a short time and there is a high risk of making mistakes in a hurry. As for the features for creating graphics, there is nothing that couldn't be done in CS2 if someone is handy and experienced. I'm not saying that I wouldn't like to equip all machines with the latest Adobe package, but it's just a matter of priorities. I'd rather put that money to workancwhich will contribute to their well-being and better work commitment and thus to better results.
@Marek Bednář: Absolutely agree, especially with the first post (price comparison). In my opinion, CC's financial plans are wall to wall. One program or everything, nothing in between. And "luxurious" ones at that. variaFor most "normal" users (those who don't just test and try, but work) "everything" means a completely illusory and meaningless possibility of using applications from a field that doesn't tell them anything or bring them anything. There are no reasonable licensing plans like "any X applications into some max"ima (3, 4, 5...)" or industry-specific packages (design, video, web, ...) for a more favorable price... So it's clear what will happen next: Those who can will buy (have bought) the last boxes of CS6 and freeze upgrades for as long as possible. And the rest will continue to pirate happily... This is what happens when companies are ruled by marketing theorists without practical experience from the real world... Which unfortunately does not only apply to Adobe... :(
@Jarys: … “it's not the latest version of SW that makes a skilled greativ, but his head and skilled hands”…
This should be set in stone, totally agree! ;)
