Apple attempted to celebrate the 100 iPod touch milestone by announcing a new 000GB model while also giving the iFixIt folks a reason to take a look inside the new model. The cheap $000 model lacks the camera and loop holder and is only available in the "classic" black and white version. The black-and-white version is a way of honoring all previous iPod touch models, especially the first two generations, with which it very conspicuously shares its design.

Given that sa Apple decided in this facilityonelet alone the front camera, it is quite logical that Apple he must have left the microphone in his new iPod. It is now located on the top of the device, similar to the first generation iPad mini. In the case of higher capacity versions, the iSight camera is located on the back of the device, between the camera and the LED flash. Their absence, along with the Loop strap, meant that we only find air inside the new iPod. The Touch still has the same hardware, which is why we find 1GHz in it Apple A5 processor, 512MB RAM and WiFi chip with 802.11a/b/g/n support. Despite minor changes in the body of the device, the 16GB iPod retains the same manufacturing characteristics, and therefore it is not surprising that there was no change in the repairability rating - it received the rating 3 of 10.
