Last week we were able to observe a rather interesting thing, when the vast majority of media in the Czech Republic and around the world were able to write two contradictory reports in one day. In most media that focus on Apple or even in the mass media there was information that there was a strike at Foxconn and production had stopped iPhone 5. Now let's look at how Apple thanks to this speculation, in a few hours he lost twelve billion dollars in the value of his shares, which, of course, also lost the value of the shareholders.
On Friday, October 5, a user with the nickname Jie wrote the following message on the S'na Weibo social network, which is similar to the well-known Twitter: "Because of the iPhone's design flaws, customers and managers began to have much stricter quality requirements. But if we are to meet them, then absolutely nest"We are going to produce what is wanted from us." The agency division of the China Labor Watch organization subsequently relied on this information and, based on these two sentences, issued a report stating that the Foxconn factory had stopped production of a mobile phone. iPhone 5, as well as the result of a strike by four thousand Foxconn workers who, due to strict production conditions, iPhone 5, they are not able to handle their work and are under enormous pressure.
Foxconn issued an official statement a week later, stating that it was not a strike, but rather a protest or riot by four hundred workers who did not interrupt production, but only drew attention to the high demands of the employer. The worker, who goes by the nickname Jie, subsequently spoke again on the social network, but this time, according to his own words, for the last time. He said that he wanted to describe the approximate situation that prevails in the factory and in particular that production is iPhone 5 technologically more complex than the production of previous models, which he also worked on. The media then blew the whole thing up and added photos to the front pages of newspapers, which are not authentic and show earlier unrest at Foxconn, which we informed you about, for example, on 24. 9. 2012, when there really production has been suspended iPhone 5, due to damage to the production line.
Because it is iPhone 5 currently the company's best-selling product Apple and its worldwide sales are accompanied by a massive shortage of this device, it was clear that the media information would not exactly add to the company's shares. The shares began to fall and have written off 2,21% this Monday alone, which inoneThis means that their total value has decreased by $12 billion.
Some petty cash can't apple throw away
I hope that Franta Lihuong won't give a shit about the one I ordered and will make it nicely and it's nice :-)
And why should they? It is the virtual, theoretical price of a piece of paper defining an ownership stake in a company. Apple, which are owned by specific owners, not the company Apple and that in case they decide to sell them at this very moment. Nothing more. Of course, no one lost anything, Apple not at all :-) The whole thing just underlines the absurdity of the stock market in its current modern form :-) as well as the absurdity of the media :-) Even if stocks Apple they fell to a single dollar, with the company Apple it doesn't even raise an eyebrow. He will not lose a single dollar in his accounts, just as he will not stop making his products or successfully selling them to people.
It's quite possible that the worker "Jie" doesn't exist at all and it's a tweet directly aimed at manipulating the stock price for speculation, it wouldn't be the first such case by far :-(
iMac: really? that's probably hard :-) if it were apple lose shares, he would become untrustworthy to other traders and thereby lose his power and exclusivity. And if the stock was $1, so be it apple ends, because his assets would suddenly decrease by incredible billions... The money is virtual, but it corresponds to the company's assets and value.
*they were, sorry, a typo :-) if I'm digging grammar, I could have it right :-D
oh…. I often don't solve grammar, but actually it's too much for me :)
but to the point, we generally know that the media can make a fuss about everything that is around apple and even without supporting information, and this is how it turns out
Apple settle it with patent lawsuits
Hi, do you know if it will be next week? iPhone 5 available at apple store?
Kruspe: And what value do I answer? Real or market?
We could talk here all day about covering the value of shares in securities and we would still not solve anything. Otherwise, when you saw the news that China is launching a new gold-backed menu, you probably know that you need to get rid of dollars quickly, but since this is technological apple a website that I like, so this debate probably doesn't even belong here....
Kruspe: the mistake creeps in, so you could praise me for making only one gross grammatical error. I wouldn't miss you :-)
ProI wonder how a company's assets can suddenly decrease just because the price of shares owned by other people drops? It's like a house that is worth 10 million today will only be worth 5 million after the decline in other people's shares? And where did you get that idea? :-) I didn't write anywhere that after the share price dropped Apple it will stop making phones and computers :-) It will work exactly the same as it did last week, for example :-) There is no reason for it not to work.
Unfortunately, the share price no longer corresponds to the real value of the company itself. Exemplary, unsubstantiated fluctuations in stock prices prove it. It's a business of feelings, nothing more. Stock price Apple defines the amount that a customer is willing to pay for this paper at a given time. He hopes that the price will rise further and he will then sell it at a profit. Few things today resemble the mythical "financial plane" as much as the current stock market :-)
