Ashton Kutcher, the American actor known from the popular TV series Two and a Half Men where he replaced Charlie Sheen, is really diligently preparing for the role of Steve Jobs. At least if we can judge from his decision to cancel or suspend all the projects he is currently working on so that he can fully concentrate on the role of Jobs in Mark Hulme's film. According to the director, Kutcher literally got into the role and even believed that he was destined for the role.
"He's already started meeting with people who knew Steve Jobs personally. He's working with professionals on his voice to make it as close as possible to Jobs's, he's also growing his hair to really resemble him. He's even canceled all his current projects. He believes he was destined for the role," Mark Hulme told iPad magazine The Daily.
Kutcher's casting announcement was met with mixed reactions, but the director is confident that the actor will deliver and "prove to the world that this is the right role for him." According to previous reports, work on the film began last year, even before Steve Jobs' death in October and the release of his biography by Walter Isaacson. Filming is expected to begin next month and the film is expected to premiere on Thanksgiving Day (the holiday is celebrated every fourth Thursday in November). The film will focus primarily on Jobs' early life.
“We decided to start the film in 1971, when Jobs and Wozniak started working together. Then the script turns to the beginnings Applu and the arrival of John Sculley. Of course, we will not miss Jobs' departure and his magnificent triumph associated with his return to the company. Hulme announced.
The co-founder also commented on the criticisms about Kutcher's selection Applu Steve Wozniak.
"The fear that a lot of people have is that Ashton is in the spotlight now and that's why he was cast. I think he was cast in the most professional way possible. I'm really happy that he's on the project. I think he's going to bring a lot of his talent to the project because he's really interested in the role," Wozniak told TMZ.
Along with this film, another one is being created at the same time, which will map Steve's life according to Isaacson's biography. Sony Pictures bought the film rights to it, and for the time being they are keeping all the details about the upcoming film a secret.
