Fraudsters have been sending out a new email in recent days that prompts you to update your payment information Apple ID. The fraudulent email mainly exploits the inexperience of users who found their phone, tablet or player under the Christmas tree and thus created their own Apple ID recently. The email encourages them to update their payment information used to pay for purchases on the company's online stores Apple, which includes iTunes StoreiTunes App store, Books store and last but not least, the Mac app store, i.e. Mac App Store. The email appears to be from the company Apple and points to the address named store.apple.com. However, you are actually redirected to an address apple.htm that looks just like the real company website Apple.
The website then offers an update of payment information, where you must enter the login email and password you use to access the company's stores Apple. This gives scammers access to yours Apple ID, through which they can not only download already paid applications, but if you have filled in your credit card details, they can also purchase additional applications. However, in the second step, the scammers go even further and after you update Apple ID, they also want to update your credit card information. If you fill in the requested information, the people behind the fraudulent website and email have access to your bank account and can make purchases online using your credit card.

So do not update your information in any case Apple ID or payment methods on any website. The company Apple Inc. does not allow to update Apple ID or payment details via websites, but only in the individual apps of their stores. If you want to update anything from your account, you must do so via the stores listed above.
