A hacker, nicknamed Pod2G, reported on Twitter a few days ago that he managed to find an exploit that allows an untethered jailbreak on iPhone 3GS/4, iPod touch 3G/4G and iPad 1. But he also mentioned that he cannot successfully jailbreak the latest iPhone 4S. The main problem was the A5 dual-core processor's cache memory, which was giving it significant problems.

However, Pod2G's statement on his blog yesterday was more optimistic:

“OK, I solved it, A5 processor cache, no more problem. This was due to the fact that the untethered jailbreak is done via a single processor thread, and as a result, with a multi-core processor, all dcaches and icaches in the places of strategic processes that caused the crash were emptied. I did over a hundred tests before I found the key. It was a strain on the nerves.'

Although a bug was found, the jailbreak was on iPhone 4S still nestable. Well, thanks to Saurik, the creator of Cydia, it was supposedly solved. Officially, Pod2G reported on their blog:

"Today I spoke with Saurikom about the launchd boot system and he found the one missing piece of the puzzle that ensures a perfectly stable jailbreak. It is definitely one of the best iOS guru. Thank you for being a saurik!'

Jailbreak-iPhone4S

The jailbreak coming from Pod2G is probably based on either a bug in one of the applications or the kernel. It follows that if it is possible to convert it to iPhone 4S, so it shouldn't be a problem on iPad 2 either. Anyway, it looks very real, everything just depends on the progress of the tests, if they are successful we can wait until the end of the year for untethered jailbreak for all iZariadenia.
