D-Link DSC-930L Review: Keep an eye on your property with a camera compatible with Mac OS X and iOS

This company produces several types of cameras, from the simplest to professional ones - it just depends on your choice and financial possibilities. I chose one of them, and one of the weaker models: D-Link DSC-930L.

First look:
At first glance, an inconspicuous white camera, but on the other hand, it has great potential and can be really useful. From the front, you can see a small lens, which in this case is not the best quality - but I think it is sufficient for most people. There is also an LED on the front that indicates the status of the device. Green - the connection is active and the camera is ready for use, red - the camera is not connected to the network. The holder has a 3M sticker on the bottom, so it can be stuck, for example, on the wall. The package contains an installation CD, an ethernet cable, the camera itself, and finally an AC adapter.

Installation
Installation CD designed for installing the camera, more precisely, it is about connecting to the camera via a computer and configuring your WiFi network on it. Then the camera must be connected to the WiFi router with an ethernet cable and the green LED must be lit. Please note that I had to do the installation on Windowse because the installer for Mac OS is on CD or DMG file. During the installation, you will be redirected to a web address where you have to create your own account, and then you can log in to it. After the camera is connected to the WiFi network, you disconnect the ethernet cable, immediately after that the red LED will light up, indicating that the camera is not connected to the network. The last step is to simply turn off and then turn on the camera. Now you should have a green LED - which indicates that you are connected to the WiFi network.

Setting
After creating an account and then logging in, you will get to the menu where you can set everything on the camera via your WiFi network – resolution, motion sensor, taking pictures at certain time intervals, turning off/on the LED diode, and many other functions. Motion Detection-motion sensor, allows you to select all or only some parts (for example, the upper right corner) of the image that the camera captures, and then you enter your e-mail address to which the camera will automatically send you e-mails when movement is detected in the selected part at certain intervals along with photos, date and time.

MyDlink Lite on iPhone/iPad
I assume that everyone who buys this camera will definitely use it iPhone or iPad for viewing. That's what the app is for App Store tu. If you decide to buy several cameras at once (which I recommend), you repeat the procedure exactly as I mentioned above. This application is also for Android OS and you can download it tu. The application works simply: after starting it, you enter the name and password (which you created when installing the camera), automatically after logging in it will find the camera or cameras if you have more than one registered to your account. Then just click on one of them and you have a live broadcast.

Conclusion
These cameras are very good, I use one of the cheapest ones myself, but it is sufficient. Of course, you have to take into account a certain latency of the camera, but I think those 2-3 seconds are tolerable. Well, if you belong to the "more demanding" group, you can opt for models with HD resolution, or with integrated memory for recording video or taking photos at certain intervals, which you can view at the end of the day and have an overview of all the events of the past 24 hours.
