The following article does not correspond completely to the content of the server Letem svetem Applem, however, given that Apple brought Black Friday to the Czech Republic, let's see what this event means and how it works in the USA. Every year at the end of November, you can see in almost all media how people are arguing, sometimes even beating over pieces of clothing, TVs and even movies on DVD. But I never believed it could be so terrible.
It all starts on the last Thursday in November with Thanksgiving. For Americans, it is one of the most important holidays of the year. The children live in other states and it is often the only day of the year when the whole family is together. It is not quite the same as our harvests, in America they give thanks, for all good things. Not only for the harvest and food, but also for being healthy, having a place to sleep... Traditionally, Thanksgiving includes turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie and all kinds of goodies. People eat a lot and spend the whole day with family that they haven't seen in a whole year. There is football on TV, the first Christmas movies and everyone is waiting for Friday shopping. From what I heard, this year for the first time malls opened at midnight and Walmart even at ten in the evening. Usually, even chains that are open 24/7 are closed for a few hours to prepare for the onslaught of "crazy people".

I found several interesting events for me. Prices include taxes.

  • Braun shaver $123 (about six and a half thousand in the Czech Republic)
  • PS3 game console with two games $217
  • PSP $108
  • Various new games like Battlefield 3 $30
  • iPod Touch 8GB $217 + $50 iTunes carfree
  • Laptops and cameras are several hundred dollars off

Thursday night I went to Walmart. What I saw took my breath away! Imagine a store, let's say two Tesco's completely full of people, so that you can't move in it. People shout at each other, fight for everything possible and are perhaps even capable of killing, just so they can get a cheap TV. After five minutes I gave up any fight. Fortunately, I discovered that almost everything can be ordered online with free shipping.
