Together with today's release iOS 4.2 is another surprise for users, as Apple from today on offers Find my iPhone free. This great feature is no longer tied to your MobileMe account. You can download the app from App Store under the title Find my iPhone and its main attraction is the ability to locate lost iOS device on the map, send a message or sound alert to this device and, if necessary, block access to the data on the phone or erase it outright. However, please note that this application will only be available for iPad, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch fourth generation!
We at the editorial office would be very interested to know how Apple It will deal with people who recently purchased MobileMe, like me, and now one of the most important features is free. Another oddity is that the list of supported devices does not include iPhone 3GS, the model that Apple still offers.
the best, I wanted Mobile.me for a long time just for this :)
I have an i4, I download it and it still requires me to have a Mobile ME account, so how should I log in? :-(
I'm sorry, especially since I also bought a mobile phone mainly because of this!!!
For example, it is not free for 3G. I already jumped 2 meters high, I look at apple.com and find out something else :(
Does anyone know if I want JB if I can install fw 4.2 and then grant JB, or will I have to break Firmware 4.2 so that FW 4.1 will be necessary on the device?
That's cool. I've always wanted this :) it's already 19:00 :)
Well, the fact that there is no 3GS support really pisses me off, sorry, there's just no other way to say it... I really don't understand, why aren't they all in it Apple devices... It's a big mistake, I think the support will come because there will probably be a lot of dissatisfied people... but it's apple, so we'll see…
It is important to note that the application find my iPhone which we will install on iPhone we only use it when, for example, a friend loses iPhone. If we lose iPhone, so it's kind of useless to us because we can't find it thanks to it. We therefore need to log in to mobileme via the web and perform a search, or block it from there. I'm curious how this will be made possible.
Perfect but there are a few questions. On what principle does it work? Does it require the phone being searched to be turned on? Or can it be airplane mode or what if the tones are turned off or if someone takes out the sim card or puts in another one?
Hi, I have a 3GS and an iPad, so what can I watch from what? :-D Thanks
Crempa: a little crazy, isn't it?? :DDDDD I can only give you an iPad
also works on iPhone 3GS. I tried it on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPod 4.
Yes, it works on 3Gs :)
