Apple recently released the long-awaited firmware 4.2 for iPad, iPod Touch (4th generation) and iPhone 4/3GS. Under the two golden master versions you can use more than 100 new features. On the iPad you can now create Folders, use Multitasking, unified inbox in Mail app, Game Center and functions AirPlay® and Airprinting.
Due to the lower RAM capacity than it has iPhone 4, the source code has been optimized, making applications faster and taking up less memory space. AirPlay® adds the ability to stream video, music and photos wirelessly from your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch directly to your Apple TV. Function AirPrint, on the other hand, adds the ability to wirelessly print documents from iOS device. Also new is text search in Safari or the ability to change the font in the Notes application. Last but not least, let's mention 17 new SMS notification tones and the ability to assign a different SMS tone to each contact.
Together with today's release iOS 4.2 is another surprise for users, as Apple from today on offers Find my iPhone free. This great feature is no longer tied to your MobileMe account. You can download the app from App Store under the title Find my iPhone and its main attraction is the ability to locate lost iOS device on the map, send a message or sound alert to this device and, if necessary, block access to the data on the phone or erase it outright. However, please note that this application will only be available for iPad, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch fourth generation!

I confirm that after updating ATV from iPad with iOS4.2.1GM works AirPlay for both video and AUDIO!

Great...I'm updating from 4.2 GM and downloaded the new itunes from apple.com …I got an update and it won't install on my iPhone …so it doesn't work for me iphone…write it to me:”…cannot be restored ...server could not be contacted.." you don't know what to do with that?

I have an iPhone 4 and after the update I still don't have it there AirPlay. And to top it all off, my phone won't find the printer via Wi-Fi :-( Do you know how this is possible?
