The iPad is currently a device used by everyone from gamers to doctors to students. managery, to top politicians everyone, almost everyone, there is one exception. DJs up until now could only dream of how such a large multi-touch device could be used for their work, until the company Algoriddim, using all the innovations in iOS 4.2 turns dreams into reality, introducing Djay for iPad! With the arrival of iTunes, it killed Apple CD, with the arrival of Djay for iPad kills Apple Vinyl?
Djay
The iPad has been on the market for almost a year and yet there is still no app that a DJ can really use, at least for a personal party, but that's not the fault of the developers, but Applewhich to iOS 3.x did not provide enough necessary APIs for working with audio and especially with audio output. Of course iOS 4.2 changes everything and adds an incredible amount of options for sound and audio output, which the authors of Djay for Mac quickly understood and were able to use!
Among the main innovations that can be used thanks to iOS 4.2 includes:
- Full access to your iPod library.
- Multi-Tasking, thanks to which your mix can play in the background while you surf the web, for example LsA.
- AirPlay: you can wirelessly stream your mix to Apple TV or AirPort Express in real time.
- Fully utilizes accelerated extensions (SSE-like) for high-quality audio-processing and analysis
- Very low latency (
- Pre-Cueing mono / stereo adapter )
iPad handles everything
As you can see, Djay for iPad analyzes two audio tracks simultaneously (BPM detection, beat grids, etc.). The iPad can easily handle curve plotting, playback, and processing of 2 tracks in real time with minilow latency, smooth graphics rendering and possible music sharing via AirPlay! Djay for iPad has taken over most of the features from its Mac version, including BPM sync, automix, auto-transitions, RPM, and equalizer. The developers aren't even afraid to say that the iPad is better than the Mac for the Djay app!
Djay for iPad will be available very soon after release iOS 4.2!

Nice, nice :-)
This article has been in the archives for 2 years, hasn't it? DJ apps are available for iPad and iPhone tens for a long time. The only useful new feature in 4.2 is supposed to be the availability of dockof the eggonewhich developers. That is, it should be possible to connect, for example, a multi-channel sound card and similar devices that currently communicate via wifi (mostly iPad/iPhone works as a MIDI controller for software on the computer).
It's strange that there is no device or cable that can do that yet.onewho used it with software other than iTunes. Here for example something about MIDI http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/apple-ios-42-to-get-midi-support-278367
I read the whole article and I still don't understand why the Djay app should be the only one usable. How about this one? http://djmixer.fm/default.aspx
Vinyl definitely won't kill you, it's not as popular as it used to be for a long time and it's more of a gadget for sophisticated connoisseurs and DJs, who in the vast majority of cases definitely won't switch to tapping on an almost 10" display.
Wouldn't there be a link to iTunes? Djay can't find it...or is it only in the US? Store?
I guess I'm stupid, right? :-)) Okay, I'll wait... I'll wait for that one iOS4.2 tremors.
