Representatives of the social network Twitter announced the conclusion of a cooperation agreement with the company Apple. The cooperation will mainly concern the Ping social network. Under the deal, Twitter users will be able to link their accounts to Ping, allowing them to include links to songs or bands in their tweets.

The contract with Twitter follows the intention Apphow to connect Ping service with social service Facebook. Steve Jobs however, he stated that Apple s FacebookAlthough he negotiated, unfortunately no agreement was reached. This is not surprising, because for Facebook Ping is of no benefit. Apple would have to companies Facebook offer something that would be more interesting for her (whether from a financial or advertising point of view). Unfortunately, this did not happen and probably will not happen again. A buyout is also out of the question Facebookwhose value is around 25 billion dollars. The company's founder Mark Zuckerberg has said that he would Facebook He never sold it, because it would have felt like selling his own child.

175 million Twitter users is not as impressive a figure as 500 million visitors Facebooku, but Apple he can be happy for them too. Apple he hopes that this move will help spread his social network, which is mainly focused on music, to a larger mass of people. Until now, Ping was just a small chicken in a yard full of chickens compared to its competitors.

As a reminder, I add that Apple introduced its social network Ping in September along with the launch of its mobile operating system iOS 4.1 and new versions of iPod multimedia players.
