How many times have you been driving, sitting at home, and a song you really liked came on the radio, but you didn't know the title or the artist? Do you have iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad? Then there is an application called Sound Hound for you. It is an application that not only can recognize most artists, both foreign and domestic, but Sound Hound will even display links to the YouTube server when the artist has a concert. There are three ways to search for a song, but you will need an internet connection each time. The easiest way is probably to click on the big orange button. After clicking, it will start using the microphone on iOS device to record the currently playing song. It is very simple and takes less than 20 seconds and you usually have the result. The second way is to enter the name of the artist or the title of the song into the white field using the keyboard. I personally use this function if I am looking for the lyrics of my favorite song, or I know the name of the album and am looking for the author. The third way is that you literally tell the application what you are looking for, similar to what we are sure many people know app from Google.
But be careful! this application is not only used to search for song titles. It contains many other functions, for example, after searching, information such as the song title, artist, which album the song is on, the album release date, and a link to purchase on iTunes will pop up. Store (unfortunately not available in the Czech Republic yet, maybe we will get it someday...), a bookmark to add to the "library" and, as is becoming commonplace these days, you can share with friends on social networks facebook.com, twitter.com, or you can send them an email or SMS about what great song you just found.
What also impressed me was that Sound Hound can find lyrics for most songs, even songs that you have recorded in your iOS device (iPhone/iPod touch/iPad). You can then make a little karaoke that you will definitely use at various family celebrations or when hanging out with friends.
During testing, I tried over 100 songs, different artists, different genres, the only problem is that the domestic database is unfortunately not yet large enough to find a result every time. But I certainly don't regret that I app bought. I guarantee that with Sound Hound you will never say to yourself: "Oh my God, what's the name of that song!"
