Mike Pan figured out a way to set up iPhone 3Gs to record HD video at 640×480 resolution at 1080 frames per second instead of the classic 800×30 resolution. Let's see how to set it up too iPhone pro HD video recording.
1. First of all, you need to have a jailbroken device. iPhone, for example through limera1n.
2. Open Cydia and wait until all your Data is loaded.
3. Go to the search tab, search for a program called Open SSH and install it.
5. Download from here HDVideo3GS.zip and save it somewhere (such as your desktop) that you know will be there.
6. Open to Mac CyberDuck or PC WinSCP and log in by:
Cyberduck
- Server: Your iPhone's IP address
- username: root
- Passportword: alpine
- Protocol: SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)
WinSCP
- Hostname: The IP address of your iPhone
- User name: root
- Passportword: alpine
- Protocol: SCP
7. Go to the folder /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/ and move and replace the file N88AP.plist
8. Go to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework/N88/ and move all remaining files here (AVCapture.plist, CameraRollValidator.plist a MediaValidator.plist)
9. To load new HD video recording settings on iPhone 3Gs, just restart iPhone
And the result ? See for yourself!

Won't that kill my chance? Zoom? To create?
Please delete point 7…the HDVideo3GS.zip file does not contain the N88AP.plist. I looked at other instructions and it is already a newer version, so that step does not need to be done...
Has anyone tried it yet?
